Valley Driving School
The Supervisory Program
One of the
difficulties so often facing the Learner Driver is that of finding a suitable
licensed driver with which to accompany them, as the licensed driver, in their
pusuit of accumulating the minimum 120 hours of practice before being able to
sit for their practical driving test.
In addressing
this dilemma, the Valley Driving School offers a suitable licensed driver to
act as the designated supervisor. The supervisor has the necessary Working
With Children check, just like the instructor. The supervisor works in a
voluntary capacity. An important distinction to make is that the primary role
of the supervisor is to supervise the Learner Driver ... not instruct – the
latter is the jurisdiction of the instructor. However, this does not preclude
the supervisor from offering some basic guidance.
The Valley
Driving School expects that any Learner Driver wishing to partake in this
program meets the following requirements:
è
Has already accumulated at least 35 hours of
logged driving experience ... and that this driving experience had been
performed satisfactorily;
è
Complete a consent form (if applicable);
è
Complete (if already haven't) a Personal Record
form; and
è
Be compliant with all instructions from the
supervisor.
Note that the
supervisor retains the perogative to summarily discontinue their association
with a Learner Driver as they see fit.
The cost of
supervised driving is $30 per hour. The cost of the assessment session (where
applicable) is $50: it will take
about 30 minutes. In both cases, payment is to be made immediately before the driving session. Payment may should be in the form of cash.
